It's true. My name is lizgwiz, and I am an accessories addict.
You know how you're supposed to dress and accessorize, look in the mirror and take OFF one thing? Well, this morning I dressed, accessorized, looked in the mirror and ADDED a scarf. Coco Chanel would NOT approve.
Seriously, I love the accessory section--earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, ankle bracelets, watches, scarves, hats, purses, sunglasses. (Don't like toe rings, though...how odd. Heh.) Even that most permanent of accessories--the tattoo. I like feeling...put together. I like seeing what goes together, which things complement each other and my outfit. Sometimes I just like sparkling (with something other than my wit and personality--hee). And, though Coco might disagree, I don't think I overdo, generally. I seldom wear more than one ring at a time on each hand, and NEVER more than 4 earrings in each ear. (Hee.) I don't feel fully dressed in just clothes.
I realized the extent of my addiction last month when I ventured to the mall to finish off a Christmas gift card. Now, I desperately need new clothes. I've lost enough weight in the last year that most of my clothes are, if not falling off of me, exactly, at least NOT well-fitted. What did I leave the store with? Socks and sunglasses.
Well, that's practical, you say. Yeah...but just out of curiosity I'm going to do a little poll.
With regards to sunglasses, do you own:
a) 1 pair. Who needs more than that?
b) 2 pairs. The everyday pair, plus a backup in case of loss or damage.
c) 3 or more pairs. Different styles, different colors...very important in coordinating the sunglasses with the rest of the accessories and the outfit.
I'll be interested to see how this comes out. And, by the way, if anyone sees any purple sunglasses out there--and I mean purple frames, not just purplish-tinted lenses-- let me know. I'm in the market for a pair.
And if you couldn't participate in the poll because you don't wear sunglasses, then may I ask, WHY THE HELL NOT? Do you WANT crow's feet and cataracts? Listen to old Auntie Liz...get yourself at least one pair with a generous coverage area and 100% UV protection and wear them 365 (or 366) days a year. You can thank me later.

I think at last count I had five pairs of sunglasses, but that is only because I can't keep track of them. Except for my Kate Spades which I keep in my bag at all times.
I have two pair, one in each of our cars. That way I don't have to remember to switch them back and forth.
One pair. If I have more, I can never find them. With just one, I always know where they are. Sounds backwards, but that's how it seems to work with me.
I was going to answer one, but I have two!
I have a regular pair and I have a running/active pair. The regular pair are a bit more fussy, so I'll wear the running pair if I'm touristing, etc...
I have approximately nine pair, but at least nine of those are lost.
I think I have one pair, but I am not sure where the sunglasses, and I can't remember the last time I wore them.
This is going to really kill you. I have one pair, and I wear them OVER my regular glasses. I've been too lazy / cheap to get prescription sunglasses, so the oversize pair that I currently own work just fine for this process. Terrible, right?
I have three pair and have been know to drive around with my child's cinderella ones when I can't find my stash.
npw, as long as you have at least one pair handy. Kate Spades, huh? They sound yummy. :)
3car, do you only wear them in the car? What about your walk TO the car? What about your eyes then, huh? (Hee.)
spark, well, if it works for you, I'm good with it. ;)
sass, got the bases covered. Good!
tony, you are hopeless.
-r-, think about your eyes. THINK ABOUT YOUR EYES! PSA over.
noelle, I would LOVE to see a picture of that.
gorillabuns, Cinderella glasses, huh? I don't have any of those...yet.
I think I need you to go shopping with me. I'm sadly lacking in accessory smarts.
As for sunglasses, just one pair. But that's because I wear glasses every day, and since I can't bring myself to do the thing Noelle does (at least not in public; not saying I'm above doing it while driving), I can afford only one prescription pair. And I don't even like the one pair I have. Tragic, no?
stef, next time you're in Tulsa, I'll happily take you accessory shopping. :)
I currently have six pairs of sunglasses. And yes, I have some purple framed ones. I bought them at Ross about a month and a half ago for about $10.
I'm an accessory crazed person too.
I have four pairs, if you don't count my riding pair. I have a pair in my purse, one at home, and one in each car. I would have more 'cause I think those things are addictive (like tatts), but my budget is "controlling" that addiction.
I'll keep an eye out for a purple pair.
I probably have 7-8 pairs, only 2-3 of which I actually wear. But I like the idea of having choices, even if I never fully exercise that right.
