When my friend Robin (who was also a terrific actress) died right after George did, my first thought was how much fun they'd have doing scenes together in the great beyond. No more cane, no more wheelchair, nothing to inhibit those great artistic spirits!

chick, I'll have to check out that bio. I always liked Patricia Neal--she had that great voice.lizgwizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10907508137794025189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34298967.post-1171034775221572642007-02-09T09:26:00.000-06:002007-02-09T09:26:00.000-06:00What a beautiful rememberance - but I'm glad you h...What a beautiful rememberance - but I'm glad you had a giggly moment that evening. George's strength and perserverence sound absolutely inspiring. I'm reminded of a great bio I read of Patricia Neal, An Unquiet Life, detailing her acting career, and then her survival of three simultaneous strokes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34298967.post-1171033399098684212007-02-09T09:03:00.000-06:002007-02-09T09:03:00.000-06:00malia, he really was.metalia, thanks.malia, he really was.

metalia, thanks.lizgwizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10907508137794025189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34298967.post-1170986817606486722007-02-08T20:06:00.000-06:002007-02-08T20:06:00.000-06:00What a beautiful tribute. What a beautiful tribute.metaliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05958630197442941466noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34298967.post-1170985763910103792007-02-08T19:49:00.000-06:002007-02-08T19:49:00.000-06:00He sounds like an amazing man -- and you an amazin...He sounds like an amazing man -- and you an amazing woman for seeing and appreciating that!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34298967.post-1170958467421579572007-02-08T12:14:00.000-06:002007-02-08T12:14:00.000-06:003car, thanks. I'll try to remember to copy the poem when I'm at Heller next week.

stef, I know. That part terrifies me, too. They can do a lot now to prevent all the horrible effects of a stroke, but only if they start treatment in the first hour or so. What if my dog doesn't turn into Lassie and go find help in time? I don't want to have to be brave and relearn how to walk!lizgwizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10907508137794025189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34298967.post-1170952647014241412007-02-08T10:37:00.000-06:002007-02-08T10:37:00.000-06:00Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry you lost two great people, particularly in so short a time span.

George sounds awesome, and that was a wonderful tribute to him.

Know what absolutely terrified me in that post, though? The part about him having a stroke in his home and no one finding him for two days. Don't all of us who live alone have the paranoid fear of something like that happening to us? Scary.Stefaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10128238432671375399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34298967.post-1170891298801833402007-02-07T17:34:00.000-06:002007-02-07T17:34:00.000-06:00That was a beautiful post, Liz. And I am grateful for the legacy that he left behind. There was just so much joy and love in him and he was so good at passing it on to others.

If you don't mind, could you please post that poem that George wrote? The "Yes" one that is framed at Heller? I haven't been able to enjoy it since I moved. It's so inspiring and reminds me of the wonderous beauty of life. I can't help but smile when I read it. I hope it'll put a smile on your face, too.Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16185016307078205768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34298967.post-1170883708361874842007-02-07T15:28:00.000-06:002007-02-07T15:28:00.000-06:00I'm sorry for the loss of both of your friends.I h...I'm sorry for the loss of both of your friends.

I hope you have your funny moment tonight to help perk you up. If you're lucky, it will be something completely humiliating that will make for good blogging tomorrow. ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
